We're almost there...on Friday we'll be 3 months away from the wedding! We're still looking for invitations, but I think I've found a winner...something that's made especially for our wedding.
My mom and I will meet with our caterer/florist next Monday to set everything in stone when it comes to flowers and food. Will and I are getting more and more excited about the upcoming wedding.
And a HUGE thank you to all of our friends and family that have visited our blog and left comments on it and our wedding website. We can't wait to see everyone at the wedding!!!

Just to let you know...
Will and I have been working hard on our upcoming wedding. We are so excited! The 'Save-the-Date' cards went out today! Everyone should be getting them in the mail before the end of this week. Our blog was created to keep everyone up to date with all of the details and decisions that are being made.
We also have another website. Just like most of the engaged couples in America, we have a website on 'the knot'. You can visit www.theknot.com/ourwedding/CarolynChilders&WillMatthews or just click the link on the right side of the screen. This website includes information about location, accommodations, and the bridal party. We look forward to hearing from all of you and seeing you in November!

I Almost Forgot

So I don't know how I did it, but I totally forgot to mention our ride from the Wedding. One of my friends from WAY BACK WHEN, James, has a company called Coats Classic Cars. He's such a good friend and has offered his services for our wedding. Please check out his website at http://www.ridebackintime.com/ He has so many wonderful cars to pick from and is very professional! I don't know what car we'll be having yet (I've been trying to talk him into buying a new one just for our wedding) so that's going to be one more surprise for the day!

That Hits the Spot
Mmmmm...YUMMY....that's what Will and I thought on Friday when we booked our Cake Baker. We're very happy to announce that Jan Moon from Dreamcakes will be in charge of making the Bride and Groom's cakes. They're going to be delicious. If you've never had one of her cakes you should try! She has a small shop in Cahaba Heights. The cakes have such wonderful names: Wedding Cake, Over the Moon, Strawberry Fields Forever. :) We're really excited and she seems to be excited about our designs. Will has found something that Will tie in many things that he enjoys. Mine will be simply elegant and a touch that is really great. I can't wait for the wedding...now we just have to find invitations, a DJ, and a few small things.
Also, I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but one of my friends from college - Christophe Jackson - has agreed to be our pianist! He's wonderful and will add a bit of excitement to the wedding. He's a great friend that is full of life! We'll be so excited to have him playing at the wedding and as a guest at the reception (he's a great dancer!!)

OMG...so Much Better than Davids!
So I ordered my dress from Diane's formal a week ago...AND....I got a call this afternoon...it's already in! OMG...this is so much better than David's ever dreamed of being! I've known people that took months and months to get their dress in! This is also from an EXCLUSIVE designer! Ha ha! Oh yeah and to tell you how wonderful Diane's is, the lady that helped me - Susan - said that she'd come to my wedding...over an hour away...just to make sure that my dress looks perfect. You tell me if you get that service elsewhere. I know I'm bashing on David's but I'm just so happy!!! YEAH!

It's been too long!

Well, Will and I have been busy...and Lazy...we've had a lot going on in our lives and little time to really sit down and update the website. So this will be a LONG post with a lot of information. First, we have our entire bridal party selected and they've all agreed. YEAH. I'll be having my sorority sisters Jennifer Blakeney and Misty Skinner. Then my friends Rachel Hutchins and Kimberly Barber, and Will's sister Draper Matthews. Will's Party consists of his father Jack Matthews, fraternity brothers Will Sanders, Matthew Harrison and Charlie Mangrum, childhood friend Jason Archer, and friends Ty Buchanan and Dallas Blakeney. It was only fitting for us to include Jennifer and Dallas since they set us up.
I've put my house on the market (fingers crossed it will sell soon) and Will has a new job. He's also been working on the house and the yard trying to get it looking more like we'd like it. It's a lot of hard work but someone has to do it. I've purchased my wedding dress...no pictures of that :) and picked out everything for the bridal party. We are planning to get our engagement shots done sometime early next month (there will be lots of those photos here). We've already attended one of our 3 summer weddings and that's helping us realized all of our little details that need to be done. We've also found a church that we can comfortably call home. We've been attending Mountain Chapel in Vestavia. It is a long drive, but it's well worth it. Some of my volunteers go there and a couple of our friends do too! The sermons are very enriching and the church family is so nice. It really has been a blessing to have a place that we can call home. We are planning to join sometime in the following months as soon as our weekends calm down and we can devote more time even during the week to the church.
Oh yeah...last but not least...we've taken a HUGE step and bought our RINGS. YEAH!!!!! No backing out now :) Hope this didn't bore you all too much and we look forward to seeing our friends and family at the wedding.
